WHEN THE HAND AND THE STRINGS MADE KIDS LAUGH.

The hand in a glove, or the dancing puppet on strings,

how they kept children laughing for years.

Like Andy Pandy with Loopy Loo and the bear.

Peter Brough and Archie Andrews, perhaps the only puppet that had a radio show.

Rag Tag and Bobtail

Then there was the two flower pots Bill ans Ben, always on edge about 'Flubalub.'
Then Sooty who never had a voice, but his side kick Sweep used to sqeek.

And who could forget the clatter of Muffin the Mule. On BBC television in the late 50's, you could see all the strings and hear the clatter of the wooden puppet.

What about this family

The Woodentops.

When a smile came from
a rag doll or a toy
when the puppet
was worth so much,
no batteries needed
we run for years
and the kids loved them
oh so much.
