The Southbank in London is a glorious place. Sitting right alongside The River Thames it offers free street entertainment with places to eat. Take a boat trip if you wish, or better still go to see some live entertainment, take look at some art. Whatever your taste from Yoko Ono to the great clasical composers, from the beat box to the spoken word, it is all there.
Then there is British Film Institue and the continuious program of great movies and great showings of long lost gems. On top of that the huge iMax screen to blow your mind away with 3D. Or just relax in the sun with a glass of beer and a cheese roll.
It is a part of London that I love, I could spend hours meandering around watching the ever changing street artist, from brilliant mimics of Charlie Chaplin, to gutarists who have not made it big yet are being photogaphed by people from all over he world. Londons Southbank is worth exploring anytime of the year.
