MR. JAWBREAKER by John W Townsend.

There was never a moment, when he was around, a moment when you could open your mouth and say something. His jaw was always on the go. Some had diagnosed him with a case of Speach Diarrhoe'a, though no one would say it to his face, you see, Mr. Jawbreeker was really a nice guy.
Let me tell you of an incident that happened at the bus station. He was waiting for a friend, who was coming by coach from the north west; nearby were a group of senior citizens on a day out. They were a bit bemused by the information board and one of them, who was a little hard of hearing asked Mr. Jawbreaker if he could help. Well the speach diarrhoe'a kicked in with much aplomb. The poor gentleman, who was hard of hearing, did ask Mr. Jawbreaker to speak up, which he did, with great gusto. In fact his voice became so loud, and so persistant that it overstrained the ears of those listening to the bus station announcements.
The whole group of senior citizens had encircled Mr. Jawbreaker, believing he was a representative of the bus company, and they were anxious as to their day trip. Others had also latched onto Mr. Jawbreakers loud endless voice, in fact it was as if he was reciting the entire bus and coach timetables, at the same time gesturing with all hands flaying in everydirecting, as the gathering crowds sought information.
It was soon a diobolical nightmare, with people going this way and that as Mr. Jawbreaker relentlessly continude to outpour this mass of times, places and stopovers. People were heading in this direction, in that direction, all over the place. Some were boarding the wrong buses, while even the bus station staff were completely foxed as to why so much confusion. It was chaos.
Suddenly at three fifteen pm that day, it had become deadlocked, the entire bus station had been ground to a halt amid the confusion, though Mr. Jawbreaker had not. Indeed he was still talking non-stop as a police officer approached him with a megaphone. The officer placed the megaphone to his lips and said aloud, "SHUT UP SIR< PLEASE." There was a moment like no other, Mr. Jawbreaker was stunned into silence, then attempted to begin to explain. Each time the police officer with the megaphone to his lips said, "NO!", "NO"
the gathered crowds looked on in stunned silence, in fact a silence that had not occured for more than one hour.
Mr. Jawbreaker at this point saw his friend in among the crowd and called across, as he edged his way through the crowds. He was last seen talking non-stop to his friend as they both headed to Mr. Jawbreaker's home.
Normality did slowly return to the bus station, though many people had by now completly forgot where they were going or why they were there.
